Oops Time

Here's a quote from an article about mistakes (http://www.overcomingbias.com/2007/08/the-importance-.html)

"Not every change is an improvement, but every improvement is necessarily a change. If we only admit small local errors, we will only make small local changes. The motivation for a big change comes from acknowledging a big mistake."

Mashup I am not going to make: "Golden Years" and "All I Really Want"

Funniest thing I saw "today": The other day I was running early for work and decided to take surface streets instead of the highway. At the railroad crossing the gates were down and I saw it was only a single engine coming, no railroad cars. (Yay, this will be nothing!) It stopped right in the middle of the road. 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30, 40. Everyone in the other cars seemed to be getting steamed, trying to figure out if we needed to detour. One car did. Then it backed up and the gates went up so it was practically nothing, but isn't that how it goes when you're waiting?

Love it... It's my favorite trick at the store. Get in the shortest line and it ends up taking the longest. :0)
